The Civil Ceremony
The ceremony will take place in the Meols Hall Tithe Barn at a time agreed both with the Registrar and Meols Hall. The chairs will be set out in rows of eight chairs with a centre aisle as agreed with the Fire Safety Officer. The registration table will be situated in the front of the Mangers (north end of the Tithe Barn) with seating for VIP guests in the front area and up to a total of number of 120 guests also seated in the Tithe Barn. Musical arrangements can be made by the wedding party as appropriate, i.e., harpist, quartet, etc., or the use of a CD System that must be discussed with Meols Hall. A public address system will be available in the Tithe Barn together with the loop system for the hard of hearing.
The Registrar will arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony; the bride and groom are asked to arrive together or seperately for an interview with the Registrar in the Meols Hall office prior to the ceremony. The guests are asked to take their seats in the Tithe Barn no more than 30 minutes before the commencement of the ceremony. If any of the guests wish to make a speech at the ceremony please inform us. Ample free car parking is available behind the office throughout the time your guests are at Meol Hall, and guests can leave their cars overnight if they wish.
After the ceremony guests will be asked to leave the Tithe Barn and are then invited for pre-reception drinks either in the Meols Hall Snooker Room or outdoors in the cobbled courtyard (weather permitting). The Tithe Barn will then be changed for the Wedding Breakfast as appropriate.
It is suggested that the ceremony will take place at a convenient time between 1pm and 4pm as agreed with Meols Hall and the Registrar. When choosing a time please consider the time of arrival of your guests in Southport and also the evening reception finishes in the Tithe Barn at midnight prompt. Please note the ceremony is not available unless the wedding reception is also booked.
